Marmaris in Turkey

Marmaris in Turkey

Marmaris is a port city in the Mediterranean, located in southwest Turkey. Like many parts of the area, Marmaris bases its income mainly on tourism. Marmaris bases this popularity mainly on the natural beauty the city beholds, as well as excellent sailing locations.

Getting to Marmaris will require some careful planning. Since the city is considered to be a port city, it may be good idea to take a boat or ferry from another location. Ferries will allow a traveler to take vehicles along for the ride, and boats let travelers enjoy the ride more so than an aircraft or land vehicle would. Land vehicles are of course a viable option, as well as private aircraft. These two options are less popular, however- since they don’t always give a good view of the beauty in Marmaris.

Once Marmaris is reached, the traveling doesn’t there. Boat tours are very popular among this port city. Boat tours provide travelers and easy way to see beautiful waters, and get to other beaches of interest. But the fun doesn’t end on the water- jeep rides are available for a mini-safari of the inland area. Jeep rides are perfect to get away from the water for a short amount of time to experience something new and exciting. Coach tours and private taxi tours are also available for those who wish to see more of the city up close, which is a great way to familiarize one’s self with the city.

Other more exotic ways of experiencing the joys of travel come in the form of scuba diving and watching turtles on “Turtle Beach”. Scuba diving is a great way to travel underneath the waters to see interesting sea life. From exotic fish to underground formations, scuba diving can be both very invigorating and very relaxing. Optionally, a trip to “Turtle Beach” can provide an amazing experience. The beach takes its name from the fact that logger head turtles breed and live around the sands of the beach. This can be quite a sight to hold, and is truly worthy of a trip if permissible.

Trips out to Pammukale are also popular- and usually last two days. Pammukale is referred to as the Cotton Castle of Turkey. Exploring ruins and bathing in springs are some of the main attractions to the area. There is a museum and Necropolis worth visiting as well- and hill that provides an amazing view of the surrounding area. Clearly, a tirp to Pamukale is an option worth pursuing if a traveler is in or around Turkey.

Trips to, from, and in Turkey are fairly cheap. This makes enjoying a vacation or trip much easier, knowing that a traveler’s wallet wont’ be too damaged. Taking advantage of these great prices and opportunities is a good idea, as Turkey truly is an unforgettable experience. Whether it is traveling by boat or land, or taking scuba dives and visiting castles or beaches- Turkey provides some of the best travel in the surrounding area. For this reason, Turkey has been a very popular tourist attraction- and will likely remain so for a good amount of time to come.
