Lindos on east cost of Rhodes

Lindos is a popular town and archaeological site along the east coast of Rhodes. It has many fine beaches and attractions, as well as a lot of history. The acropolis of Lindos is famous for giving tourists and travelers a view of what stood for many years before them- and is a great educational experience.
The acropolis of Lindos sits high on a hill, and is considered to be a citadel that was used by a few different factions. Excavation and restoration have made the site an incredibly popular tourist attraction. Other historical sites such as the Ancient Amphitheatre and the Tomb of Cleoboulos are popular as well- making the Lindos town quite popular indeed overall thanks to its history.

A short distance away, travelers will find the Pefkos beach. Speed boats and Jet skis are available for rent on the popular beach. Pefkos remains to be largely undeveloped in means of commerce- which adds to the relaxation and beauty of the environment. Still, travelers will find authentic Greek cuisine, resorts, cafes, and bars- although there won’t be a large selection. Many different pine trees decorate the surrounding area, which is where the beach has earned its name.

If the short distance to Pefkos beach seems out of the way, there is always the Lindos main beach, Pallas beach, and Saint Paul’s Bay. Lindos main beach is the largest of the three, and many different water sports are popular among its waters. The other two aren’t as big, and offer great swimming opportunities. The many different beaches of Lindos make the town favorable for those who enjoy water activities.

The nightlife of Lindos is just as exciting as many other towns in Rhodes, although it might not be the wildest. Different discos and pubs will offer the same great music other towns do, as well as aromatic cafes and more intimate restaurants. There are many tourist attractions and opportunities to experience fine cuisine and seafood, making the town very popular among food enthusiasts. The town overall gets a great deal of tourists in holiday seasons, but tends to die out in between such holidays. This makes timing important for the kind of trip a traveler desires. If a more relaxing trip is desired, travelers should visit during off seasons such as fall or winter. Otherwise, summer and spring months bring great deal of younger crowds and tourists in to create a lot of bustling activity.

The town of Lindos is unique in many respects. The acropolis of Lindos and other historical sites make it a great trip to learn something new and exciting- or to see amazing architecture. When the educational experience is over, warm beaches and inviting restaurants are available to accommodate to traveler’s needs. The many beaches will ensure that all kinds of water sports can be found- including very interesting banana boat rides to visit water caves. Overall, Lindos is a very popular resort town for those who like a little extra from the normal luxury- and is a great choice for any vacation.
