Crete largest island in Greece

Rhodes and Crete is the two largest and most attracted islands for tourists.
Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and likewise has acquired the reputation as a great vacationing spot. From castles, to historical sites, to archaeological digs- the island hosts many types of historical backgrounds. It was the host of the Minoan culture- and has since then become a popular tourist attraction.

Interestingly, Cretans have a diet that in theory gives them a longer life span than others. From all of these reasons, Cretans have a very low mortality rate that is associated with nutrition- which the rest of the world has yet to follow.

Crete is a huge island, and likewise has many types of beaches. All sorts of different beaches exist. From pebbly beaches, to sandy beaches, to windy or shallow beaches- any kind of beach is sure to be found on Cretan soil. This makes the island popular among beach enthusiasts that like to experience more than just the common beach. Intricate caves and great swimming waters complete the experience- and make Crete extremely popular due to its beaches. Sea urchins can become a problem in shallow shores- as stepping on them can be quite painful. However, maintaining a careful step will help get around this downfall.

Looking to enjoy a little night life and enjoyment? Many taverns and night clubs can accommodate to any needs. Entertainment in the form of plays and theatrical performances can be a great experience as well- and you can find such events in Chania. A "Cretan Evening" can also be followed. This is simply a recreation of the atmosphere a Cretan wedding or other celebration will have- and is for tourists to see how incredibly exciting and fun these times can be. Much dancing, drinking, and eating take place in a merry environment- which gives Cretans a reputable name as being jolly and carefree when it comes to celebrating and entertainment. Concerts are also available, especially in the summer. Cretan music usually can be heard at weddings and anniversaries too- and is quite exquisite.

Overall, Crete is a must-see when island hopping. It boasts some of the best beaches- and a huge variety of both historical sites and entertainment or attractions. Bars, pubs, and other forms of night fun are incredibly plentiful- which makes Crete very popular among tourists. However, family tourism is supported as historical sites and castles are great to take the whole family to for educational purposes. In the end, one can’t go wrong with a visit to the wonderful island of Crete- it is well worth a trip and visit.
